About Your Instructor

Scott Onstott studied two years of Mechanical Engineering and two years of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1992. This unique educational background gives him fluency in both engineering and design, seamlessly blending the analytical precision of left-brain thinking with the creative vision of the right brain.

He began his career as a manual draftsman, using a drafting machine with pencils for engineering projects and a parallel rule with triangles for architectural work. Embracing the digital revolution early on, Scott has been continuously using Autodesk AutoCAD since 1991, starting with Release 11 on DOS. His expertise expanded to BIM as he adopted Revit in 2000, prior to Autodesk's acquisition, and fell in love with SketchUp in 2001 when it was still owned by @Last Software, well before its transitions to Google and later Trimble.

Scott eventually shifted from working in architecture and engineering  firms to dedicating himself full-time to teaching. Over the years, he has taught more than 1,000 students in traditional classroom settings, written numerous books, and developed over 50 online courses across multiple platforms, reaching a global audience.

This is Scott's personal training platform, built on his decades of experience in the field and his passion for empowering others. It provides learners at all levels with quality instruction designed to help them excel in their careers.
